Homework

Year 12 – you should be close to completing the cellschapters in both Meg and the lizard workbooks

Test for this topic will be next week

Year 13 – you should have completed the plant responses and animal responses to the abiotic environment of Meg, and the corresponding chapters in the flies workbook.

A busy start to the year

Year 12 Biology has already been on their first field trip to Arataki. The rangers all gave very informative (and interesting) talks, and much information was gathered in preparation for the coming research internal assessment. A very successful field trip (even down to the exciting ride on the double decker bus along the Sceanic Drive).

Volcano story winner!

                                        VoLCaNo

When a volcano erupts, ash, pumice is blown out of the main vent. This causes lava to come out of the crater and flow down from the summit. It can be a very tragic disaster when a volcano erupts as many houses and people can be destroyed. A few years ago a volcanologist was tragically killed. He fell into the crater and got owned by magma. Years later, when the volcano had eroded, his body was discovered burnt and destroyed. Erosion occurs after heavy rain and snow. When a volcano becomes dormant it means the volcano will never erupt again.

Welcome

Hi. This my first try at blogging. Hope it proves useful to all. Seniors need to check out the revision times (under pages – look for your year level). Year 10′s – the nuclear power assignment is there and hopefully I’ll keep up to date with weekly homework – so now there’s no excuse even if you’re absent!!!!
